Pixieland Amusement Park

Pixieland Amusement Park, 2740 E Olivera Rd, Concord, CA 94519

This place deserves more credit! Outside of Disneyland, how many places can offer 2-5-year-olds a chance to fly a plane, drive a car, or ride a roller coaster?  Admission and parking are FREE.  Gilroy Gardens down in the South Bay charges $37 per entrance ticket plus $15 for parking, and my experience down there was less memorable.

Pixieland is great for a short, afternoon trip. We love grabbing brunch and then heading over there on the weekends.  Its small size is perfect for toddlers who are ready for a nap after 2-3 hours anyway. The staff has always been friendly and courteous.

As a parent, it is a joy to see my little one just having a blast on the rides. While the train chugs along with around the park and turtle/duck pond, cars passing by will honk as you wave at them.  My son's personal favorite is the "Frog Hopper" - somewhat of a mini version of Drop Zone at Great America that goes up as well as down. I know it's wildly exhilarating to him because he is just screaming and laughing the whole time.

I hope Pixieland continues to thrive and be a special family-friendly place in the Bay Area for many years to come!
